Bath
church lands grant to encourage wildlife
The PCC of
St. Stephen's Church in Bath has successfully obtained a
grant of £10,000 from the SITA Trust. Revd. Jonathan
Lloyd, Vicar of St. Stephens, says that the funds will be
used to carry out a GreenPrints Flagship Project to create a
community wildlife garden. Work is expected to start in
February and the project will continue for 12 months.
GreenPrints is an England-wide
scheme which makes it easier for 16 to 25 year olds to
improve their environment for the benefit of people and
wildlife. Flagships are environmental projects which must
focus on improving a public green space (such as a park,
beach or canal) for people and wildlife. Flagships can last
for up to 12 months and usually involve learning lots of new
skills.
More information about
Flagship Projects can be obtained at the
SITA Website.
